The Intervene Challenge is not another model of intervention - It’s a movement with thousands of individuals rallying to the call to be agents of hope in building a culture that turns the tide on suicide. The Intervene Challenge empowers ordinary people to have an extraordinary impact. Whether it's the mother who has lost a son, the team that has lost a coach, the soldier who has lost a battle buddy, or a police department that has lost a lieutenant; thousands are rising to the Challenge because intervention saves lives!

We invite you to be part of the movement. Take the Intervene Challenge! Rally your community for a day of training in the Listen Learn Lead Model of Intervention. Become an agent of hope in a network of care that is turning the tide on suicide.

Headlines Nationwide Sounding Alarm

Suicide is on the rise.  It’s the #2 cause of death for teens and takes more lives in the first responder community than line of duty deaths.  In 2018 there were more than 48,000 suicides in the US; an increase of 40% since 1999.  Suicide does not discriminate it takes individuals from the strongest families, schools, and communities, including the faith community. Statistically  there is no such thing as natural immunity. Apart from a growing awareness of the problem and a concerted effort to address the crisis, the numbers will continue to rise in every community.

For many it is a challenge to believe that they could possibly help someone at risk of suicide.  For a few the challenge is in understanding how an individual could ever have thoughts of suicide.  For those in crisis, it is coming to the realization that  underneath the challenges of life there is still a life worth living.

More than 21,000 individuals have taken the Challenge to gain the skills that save lives. From the retired school teacher who said now I have a voice to make a difference to the Veteran spouse who took her pain of loss and has turned it into a passion and a purpose to save others. You too have incredible power to make a difference.  Be part of the movement. Help others in their time of need.  The seed of hope is most often planted by one caring person willing to Listen Learn and Lead.
