Leadership
Chaplain (LTC) Kenneth Lou Koon founded Armed Forces Mission in 2012, two years after his own brush with suicidal ideation. He suffered from a suffocating and overwhelming sense of guilt; and crashed mentally, spiritually and even physically after the injury of his third son, on his watch. It was his oldest son, a US Airman that intervened to restore the hope and resilience that he had always known in his dad.
"Chaplain Koon has returned with a vengeance to eradicate suicide."
Col Frank Eubanks Lou has led AFM in conducting more than 1,600 suicide interventions and has trained more than 21,000 individuals in the skills to do the same.
